Jacob J. Hirt Rites Saturday (Died Feb. 28, 1962)
Elk Rapids - Funeral services for Jacob J. Hirt, 72, of Farwell, who died Wednesday at Clare General hospital after a long illness, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Elk Rapids Methodist church.
Rev. Raymond Wahl will conduct the last rites, and burial will be make in the Elk Rapids cemetery.
Mr. Hirt was born April 3, 1889, in South Milton, Antrim county.
Surviving are his wife, Alice of Farwell; a son, Gerald, of Midland; three step-sons, Donald Smith of Farwell, Robert Smith of Midland, and William Smith of California; three step-daughters, Mrs. John Hughey of West Branch, Mrs. Earl Alexander of Sanford; and Mrs. Stanley Raymond of Midland; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Herman of Elk Rapids and Mrs. Rose Lombard of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Henry, of South Milton; and 28 grandchildren.
