HARRIET BACON DIES SUDDENLY
Funeral services for Mrs. Harriet M. Bacon, 72, who died suddenly Monday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leona Detzler In Grand Rapids, will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Dockery Funeral home in Elk Rapids with the Rev. Louis Basso officiating. Burial will be made in the family lot in Maple Grove cemetery, Elk Rapids.
Harriet Mitchell was born July 17th, 1873. In Milton township and lived there until 1895 when she was married to Alfred Bacon of Elk Rapids. The couple resided there until 1916 when they moved to Muskegon. Mr. Bacon died in 1918 and six years later she went to Grand Rapids to make her home.
Mrs. Bacon was a charter member of the Rebekah lodge and an active member of the Episcopal church.
Surviving are three children, Mrs. Detzler and Mrs. R. A. Bullock of Grand Rapids and Perry Bacon of Muskegon; 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; three sisters.
Mrs. Eliza 0'Dell and Mrs. Nellie Paradise of Elk Rapids and Mrs. Conrad Banninger of Kewadin; one brother, William Mitchell of Sequim, Wash.
The body will arrive In Elk Rapids Wednesday following services there this evening.
