George Moore Jr., 68, departed this life on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at his residence. George was born in Peoria on December 26, 1955, to George and Bernice Moore Sr. they precede him. George graduated from Peoria Central High School then attended Illinois Central College, where he received an associate degree. George married the love of his life Rosemary Moore on July 1, 2003. He enjoyed maintaining his yard and cars, fishing, and interior decorating. George was the patriarch of his family and dearly loved them.
George leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife of 38 years: Rosemary Moore of Peoria; four sons: George (Erica) Moore III, Demetrius Moore, Eric Younger all of Peoria, and Andre Thomas of Atlanta, GA; five daughters: Lesley Colman of Peoria, LaTasha(Charles) Moore Black of Milwaukee, WI, Brandie Weaver of Waco, TX, Shawntice Younger, and Esterica Phillips both of Peoria; two brothers: Kevin Moore and Sammy Moore both of Peoria; two honorary brothers: Edward Drummond and Melvin Slaughter; and eight sisters: Diane (Donnie) Hankins of Atlanta, GA, Shirley Hanson of Milwaukee, WI, Juilianna (Thomas) Watson of Atlanta, GA, Juilette Rodgers of Atlanta, GA, Christina (Bob) Moore of Chillicothe, IL, Dorothy (Craig) Moore of Washington, IL, JoAnne Moore of Atlanta, Ga. and DeAnguela (Delrick) Davis of Fort Pierce, Fl.
George, in addition to his parents, was preceded in death by one son Winfred Younger; one niece: Nicole Moore.
George will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery
