In Loving Memory of Erneil Jean Baker Baker

Erneil Jean (Baker) Baker, better known as "Jean Jean", passed away unexpectedly on December 20, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. Jean was born on January 20, 1962 to the late Elias and Mildred (Puckett )Baker. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Baker.

Survived by her daughter Regina (Baker) Abell, who is engaged to Blake Digue, as well as son Eddie Baker and his wife Ashley Baker. Jean was the proud grandmother of Makailee Brooks (Chase Lawson), Ty Abell, Trevor Abell, Kaelyn Digue, Dominick Shelton, and Barrett Granger. Jean had an inseparable bond with her closest friend, Karen Shelton, and Karen's daughter, Jillian Shelton.

Jean dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked at Sayre Christian Village for 17 years.

Jean lived a fulfilling life, cherishing the simple pleasures that brought her true happiness. Whether it was fishing, taking long car rides, spending time with her beloved dog Harley, or caring for her pet goat Sonny, Jean found joy in every moment. Despite all of this, her family was her greatest love.

Jean is survived by her sisters, Bonnie (Baker) Fredricks Best, Elizabeth (Baker) Callahan Spurlock (Jerry), Melinda (Baker) Bruner Johns (George), and her brother, James Baker. She is preceded in death by her brothers Gary Baker, Allen Baker, Kenny Baker, and Robert Baker.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 4-8 pm at New Hope Fellowship. The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, followed by burial service at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Honoring her memory, Pall Bearers will be Debbie Baker, Bryan Callihan, Cecil Fredrick, Michael Land, Zachary Woods, Chase Lawson, Dominick Shelton, and Barrett Granger. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Baker, Kathy Woods, Erick Presley and Timothy Baker.

Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust placed in us to care for Jean and her family. This obituary was submitted with love by Jean's family.
Our beloved Jean Baker recently passed on December 20, 2023. Jean was an incredible mother, sister and best friend who touched the lives of all of those around her in a way that could never be replaced. She leaves behind a daughter (Regina) and son (Eddie), and several brothers and sisters (Linda, James, Libby and Bonnie) and grandchildren.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jean dedicated her entire life to her family. She was quick to lend a helping hand or listening ear, and never knew a stranger. She could be found doing anything to raise a laugh or a smile from the family members she loved so much.
We are all devastated by the loss of our "Jean Jean" and were not prepared for the cost of a funeral service. We want to give Jean the memorial she deserves, to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes.
Unfortunately, with her retirement came a loss in life insurance benefits, and the family needs assistance covering the high costs of a funeral service and burial.
Please consider donating, as any amount will truly help the family during this difficult time.
