Robert B. Baker, 64, widower of Betty Jean Mills Duke Baker, died Sunday, Oct. 30, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

Mr. Baker was born in Jessamine County on July 31, 1941, to the late Elias and Mildred Puckett Baker. He was a self-employed laborer, and an Army veteran, and attended Abundant Life Church.

He is survived by three step sons, Eddie Duke and his wife, Linda, Arlie Duke, and Jerry Wayne Duke; and one step daughter, Phyllis Duke Richardson, all of Beattyville; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his "special angels," Destiny, JaCinda, A.J. and Brooklyn; four brothers, James, Allen, and Gary Baker, all of Nicholasville, and Henry T. Baker of Somerset; four sisters, Malinda Johns of Garrard County, Elizabeth Spurlock and Jean Baker, both of Nicholasville, and Bonnie Best of Lexington; and numerous friends and relatives.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, McKinley Baker.

Funeral services and military rites were held by the Three Forks Post No. 11296 VFW, on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. at Booneville Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Tolson and the Rev. Jerry Spurlock officiating.

Burial was at White Ash Cemetery in Belle Point, Ky.


Pallbearers were Christopher Easterly, Michael David, Michael Dowdy, Anthony Baker and John and William Richardson.
