Delmar Alton Chastain, age 86, of Bloomington, Indiana went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 17, 2023. He was born on May 29, 1937 in Martin County, Indiana to Renzo and Myrtle May (Inman) Chastain.

Delmar graduated from Williams High School in 1955, before serving in the United States Navy as a Radioman on the USS Long Beach from February 17, 1959 to February 17, 1963. He worked and retired from RCA in Bloomington in Material Supervision. Delmar was a member of Shiloh Pentecostal Temple. He married the love of his life, Marjorie Ellen (Stillions) Chastain on May 15, 1965. Delmar enjoyed fishing, gardening, cutting wood, and spending time with his wife and family.

Delmar is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Stillions) Chastain, son, Doug Chastain (Becky), grandchildren, Cole (Hope) and Kennedy Chastain, great-granddaughter, Logan Chastain, sister-in-law, Barbara Chastain, and several nieces and nephews.

Delmar was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Aubrey ad Theo Shields Stillions, brothers, Dellas Chastain (Susie), Donald Lowell Chastain, sisters, Burdena Chastain, Beverene (Chastain) Hutton, and Bonita JoEllen (Chastain) Rigger.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, with funeral services following at 6:00 PM on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Shiloh Pentecostal Temple, 77 W. Smithville Road Bloomington, Indiana. Pastor Jud Sears will officiate.

A private graveside service will be held at Clear Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Temple, World Missions Fund.
