Murdo Kenneth Campbell was the son of Kenneth Campbell and Gormelia Dorothy MacLeod, born in South Dell, Ness, Barvas, Isle of Lewis, Scotland in approximatly 1829. He married Mary D. Martin of North Dell, Ness, Barvas, Isle of Lewis.

Together, Kenneth and Mary had seven children, two of whom did not survive infancy. The others included Gormelia Dorothy Campbell, Mary M. Campbell, Kenneth Campbell, Donald Murdo Campbell, and Catherine Campbell.

Murdo died on November 22, 1905 in Dell, Compton County, Quebec, Canada and was buried in the Dell Cemetery, a cemetery filled with Scottish settlers. His wife died about seven years later in August 1912. She too is buried in the Dell Cemetery.
