MRS. ALEX G. MORRISON, SCOTSTOWN

SCOTSTOWN, Que., March 17. Dorothy Campbell Morrison, widow of the late Alexander G. Morrison, passed away on Wednesday, March 8th, after a brief illness at the home of her son, Ebbie, at Farnham.

The late Mrs. Morrison was the daughter of Murdo K. and Mary Martin Campbell, one of the first families to settle in Dell, coming to this country from Scotland when Mrs. Morrison was five years of age. Deceased, if she had lived till March 11th, would have reached the age of seventy-one years, and was the mother of thirteen children, of whom ten survive, namely, Mrs. Robert Farquharson, (Christie) South Ryegate, Vt.; Mrs. John A. MacLeod, (Mamie) St. Johnsbury, Vt.; Mrs. Donald Mosher, (Myra) Detroit, Mich.; Kenneth, Seattle, Wash.; Angus, Detroit, Mich.; Donald M., Scotstown; Rodney C., Limon, Colo.; Ebbie, Farnham; John C., Scotstown; A. Gordon, Boston, Mass. The eldest son (Murdo) passed away nineteen years ago; two other children passed away in infancy.

The remains were brought to the home of her son Donald, here on Thursday evening. The funeral service, which was largely attended, was held in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Sunday, Rev. Mr. Dobbin, of Petersburg, Ont., officiating, taking for his text the second verse of the fourteenth chapter of St. John's Gospel, and speaking comforting words to the bereaved ones. the hymns sung were "O Lord of Bethel," "I Have a Savior, He's Pleading in Glory," "There's a Land That is Fairer Than Day." The last two were sung by request, being favorites of deceased. The 23rd paraphrase was sung in Gaelic, led by Mr. Norman Murray, after which Mr. John MacLennan prayed in Gaelic.

Interment took place Monday in the Dell Cemetery, where the remains were laid to rest beside her husband, who predeceased her over nine years ago. The family were all present with the exception of Kenneth, who could not get here in time owing to the messages sent him being delayed. The bearers were the six sons present. Deceased is also survived by two brothers, Kenneth B. Campbell, Scotstown; Donald M. Campbell, Dell, and thirteen grandchildren.

The sympathy of their many relatives and friends go out to the family in their bereavement.
