MRS. ANGUS J. MacDONALD, MILAN.

Milan, July 11. -- The death of Mary Campbell, widow of the late Angus J. MacDonald, removes another life-long resident from this vicinity. The deceased had been in poor health and under medical care for more than a year. On June 1st, her condition became critical when she suffered a paralytic stroke and despite skilled care, she passed peacefully away on Monday, June 30th.

The deceased was born in Dell, Island of Lewis, Scotland, on November 1, 1859, the eldest daughter of the late John and Margaret Graham Campbell. At the age of three she came to Canada with her parents and settled in Dell District.

The deceased was united in marriage to Angus J. MacDonald, on April 20, 1886. This union was blessed with seven children, all of whom survive. On April 20, 1936, their family and many friends joined with them in celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. MacDonald predeceased her on March 27, 1940.

Following prayers at the late residence on July 2nd, the funeral Church, Hampden, by her pastor, Rev. Malcolm Gillies, who took for his text, Psalm 116, verse 15, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." The singing was in Gaelic with Messrs. M. Morrison and F. M. MacKenzie as precentors.

Interment was in Dell cemetery by the side of her husband.

The bearers were Messrs. A. D. Nicholson, M. Ross, N. M. MacLeod, J. M. Morrison, J. N. MacKenzie, F. M. MacKenzie and A. W. Murray.

Surviving are five sons, Norman, John and Kenneth, of Milan, Alex, of Detroit, Mich., and Angus, of Montreal; two daughters, Annie, Mrs. Norman Campbell, of Windsor, Vt., and Katie, Mrs. Moss, of Nashua, N.H.; five daughters-in-law, sixteen grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren, one sister, Katie, Mrs. D. J. MacDonald, of Plenty, Sask.; a brother-in-law, Mr. M. J. MacDonald [Murdo John], of Scotstown, also many nieces, nephews and more distant relatives, all of whom have the sincere sympathy of a large circle of friends.

Those from out-of-town attending the funeral were Mr. Alex MacDonald, of Detroit, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Angus MacDonald, of Montreal; Mrs. Norman Campbell, of Windsor, Vt.; Mrs. Katie Moss, of Nashua, N. H.; Mrs. L. T. Hammerli, of Washington, D.C.; Miss Dorothy Murray, of Washington, D.C.; Mr. Alex MacDonald, Mr. M. J. MacDonald, Mrs. Dora Sterns, Miss Katie Morrison, Mr. William MacLean, and Mrs. Gordon MacLeod, of Scotstown; Mrs. Rachel MacRitchie, Miss Christine and Mr. George MacRitchie, of Springhill, Que.
