In a comparatively short time he was given charge of one of the company's stores, where he was held in the highest esteem by the members of the company, his employees and his customers alike.

He was the personification of integrity, always ready to sacrifice his own pleasures in putting his best efforts into his work, in whatsoever capacity tended to promote the best interests of the company.

He was united in marriage to Christine Isabelle Nicholson, also of Milan, on September 17, 1932. Their union was blessed with three children, Margaret, Douglas and Elizabet.

A service was held on Thursday afternoon. January 1, in the chapel at Armstrong's Funeral Home in Montreal, the Very Rev. Malcolm A. Campbell, D.D., officiating. The chapel was filled to capacity with relatives and friends. Dr. Campbell, who was also one of his customers, visited him frequently during his illness, and in his brief address referred to his sterling qualities, paying high tribute to his honesty and friendliness.

Immediately after the service, the remains were entrained for Scotstown, where they rested at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Nicholson until Friday afternoon, when a funeral was held in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church Rev. J . W. Smith officiating, giving comforting promises and messages from the Scriptures.

The hymns sung were "The Lord Is My Shepherd," "O God of Bethel" and "Breathe on Me, Breath of God."

The bearers were Messrs. Wallace Murray, Angus K. MacLeod, Rodney MacDonald, Albert Murray, John Nicholson and John C. Morrison.
