Greenville resident w.G. "Gayle" Mauldin, 88, died Wednesday night at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Services will be at Coker-Mathews Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Jerry Mercer officiating.
Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Born in Hunt County on June 27, 1906, he was the son of James Harris and Emily Steed Mauldin. On March 17, 1935, he married Onie Telford. Mr. Mauldin served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired welder.
Survivors include a stepson, Emmitt H. Thurlo of Mocksville, N.C.; brother, Roy F. Mauldin of Yukon, Okla.; three grandchildren; several nieces, nephens, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife on June 19, 1987; one brother, and five sisters.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
