He was one of a large family, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Davis. He was twice married, his first wife, who died a number of years ago, was Miss Delia Francis. Later he was married to Miss Allie Bennett, who survives.

Besides his wife, he leaves four sons, Clarence Davis, of Blytheville, Ark.; Charlie Davis, of Birmingham, Ala.; Walter Davis, of Lake Charles, La., and Duck Davis, of Houston; seven daughters, Mrs. Will Fielder, of Winona; Mrs. Stella Allen, Lapanto, Ark.; Mrs. Minnie Lee Hill, Blytheville, Ark.; Mrs. Lucille Pumphrey, Mrs. Ethel O'Barr, Mrs. Mae Manuel and Miss Juanita Davis and twenty-three grandchildren.
