A V (Duck) Davis Dies in Houston
Funeral services for Albert Victor (Duck) Davis, 65, retired Houston night marshal, who died at 3:30 pm, Friday, Dec. 31, were conducted at 2 pm, Sunday, Jan. 2, from the Houston Funeral Home.
The Rev. Cecil Pumphrey, the Rev. Alva Ray McCorkle, and the Rev. Donald Doggett officiated. Interment was in the Concord Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased.
Mr. Davis had been ill for quite a while, and died at his home here.
He was born in Chickasaw county on Aug. 3, 1900, the son of Lee Andrew Davis and Della Francis Davis. He was a member of the Concord Methodist Church.
He leaves his mother, Mrs. Lee Davis of Houston; three brothers, Clarence, Charlie, and Walter Davis, all of Houston; seven sisters, Mrs. Irene Fielder of Winona, Mrs. Minnie Lee Hill of Blytheville, Ark., and Mrs. Stella Allen, Mrs. Lucille Pumphrey, Mrs. Ethel O'Barr, Mrs. Mae Lyles, and Mrs. Juanita Griffin, all of Houston.
