Emily Rosina Whitehead was the first child born to Thomas Whitehead and Harriet Rachel Johnson. She was born on April 12, 1888 in Elma Twp., Perth County, Ontario, the area where both her parents had been living and where they were married. Shortly after her birth the Whitehead family (Thomas, Harriet, Emily and John and Annie May Whitehead moved North to Trout Creek (S. Himsworth, Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada). To live on what became known as the Whitehead farm. This is where Emily grew up. She went to work in Toronto after 1908 and about June 1910 she emigrated to Detroit, Michigan, USA with her sister Annie May Whitehead. Emily was employed in Detroit as Domestic Helper. Emily met Francis (Frank) Joseph Armstrong and they were married 3 November 1919 in Detroit. Frank and Emily welcomed a son Robert William Armstrong abt 1918. Emily passed away March 1, 1927 after a brief illness with heart issues.
