Funeral services for Ada Fortkamp of Dubois, Wyo., were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6 at the Methodist church in Riverton, Wyo., with the Rev. Dirks officiating.
Ada was born to Henry and Ada (Johns) Petsch, March 30, 1910, at Wauneta, Nebr., where she spent her childhood. She was united in marriage to William Fortkamp, Oct. 8, 1928, at Bird City, Kans. To this union were born three daughters, Leona Owens of Red Cloud, Nebr., Donna Annan of Elk Mountain, Wyo., and Shirley Schlup of Lincoln, Nebr. The family moved to Paxton, Nebr., in 1942 then moved to Wyoming in 1950.
She is survived by her husband, William Fortkamp, three daughters, Leona Owens, Donna Annan and Shirley Schlup and six grandchildren, Richard and Tommy Owens, Sherry, Debbie, and Billy Allan, and Allan Ray Schlup. Also seven brothers and four sisters, John, Elmer, Kenneth, and Marion of Riverton, Wyo.; Fred of Meridon, Wyo.; Joe of Albin, Wyo.; and Jesse of Stratton, Nebr.; Laura Gauger, Wauneta, Nebr.; Vada McCollum, Trenton, Nebr.; Alice Porter, Benkelman, Nebr.; and Velma Green of Imperial, Nebr.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Henry and Mary (Johns) Petsch, a sister Pearl Prime and a brother, Guy Petsch.
At the time of her death she was operator and manager of the Corner Kitchen at Dubois, Wyo.
Ada will be greatly missed and was loved by everyone who knew her.
Pallbearers were Jack, Jim and Donald Petsch, nephews and Jerry Reed, Edwin Vermillion and Edward Wagner. Burial was at The Mountain View Cemetery at Riverton, Wyo.
