Henry Petsch, an old time resident of this community, died after an illness of two weeks, at his home in the Eagle district.

Henry Petsch was born January 29, 1861, in La Porte County, Indiana, and died January 24th, 1930, at the age of 69 years, 5 months, and 25 days. He with his parents and brothers emigrated to Nebraska in 1877. In the fall of 1885, he came to Dundy County, Nebraska, and filed on a homestead, which place has been his home until the time of his death. On March 5th, 1886, he was united in marriage to Mary V. Johns, of Milford, Nebr., who preceded him in death nine years, having passed to the great beyond August 23, 1921.

To this union were born 14 children, Pearl Prime, deceased, and Fred of Mitchell, Nebr.; John, Laura Gauger, Jess, Velma Green, Joe, Alice Christensen, Guy, Elmer, Marion, Ida Fortkamp, Vada, and Kenneth, all of Wauneta. He also leaves two brothers, 23 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A large crowd attended the funeral services, which were held at the Eden church, Saturday afternoon, July 25th, with Rev. J. J. Klopfenstein officiating. Burial was made beside his wife in the Eden cemetery. Jones & Son of Stratton, had charge of the body.
