Mrs. Rose Legate, 77, Dies Here Saturday
Born in Illinois; Had Lived Here over Fifty Years.
Mrs. Legate is survived by one ( I think this should be passed away at home) on River Street Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock. Mrs. Legate was born in Jersey county, Illinois, March 17, 1856 and was in her 77th year. She had resided in this county more than fifty years.
Mrs. Legate is survived by one son, Thomas Legate, jr., of Lexington, and five daughters; Mrs. John Dempsey, Fenton, Ia; Mrs. J. C. Klotz, Medora, Ill, Mrs. Myron Alderson, Cylinder, Ia; Mrs. G. E. Reid, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. John Lukenbill of Lexington; also three brothers and three sisters.
The funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Winkler Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. H. J. Rand, pastor of the M. E. Church, South. Burial will be in Machpelah cemetery.
