A native of Buncombe County, he was the husband of 37 years to Barbara Davenport Taylor and was the son of Evelyn Taylor. He was a people person loving to talk to everyone, and was a retail sales manager. He loved to tell children stories and his flowers and plants. He was an avid outdoors man loving to be on the lake or stream bank with his fishing pole. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his son John Wayne Taylor; a half sister; Louise Reed, and her husband Mike, of Black Mountain; a half brother; Howard Samuel Hart Jr., and his wife Cathy, of Black Mountain; an uncle Marion Elmer Taylor, and his wife Ruth of Black Mountain; a grandchild; Kimberly Taylor, of Black Mountain; and grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. O. V. Taylor ; two nephews and a cousin.
Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
