1938 OBITUARY: Mahala Ann Miller, 83, died March 7, 1938 in Las Animas, Colo. Funeral services will be held at Glencoe, the date will not be known until the body has arrived from Colorado. Burial will be in the Methodist Cemetery in charge of the officials at Union, two miles north of Glencoe; Vincent Funeral Home officiating.

Mrs. Miller was born at Page County, Iowa, January 24, 1855, the daughter of John and Millie Bryson-Vassar. She was married to J. Henry Miller in Missouri. They came to Oklahoma in the fall of 1907 and lived here until 1915 when she went to Colorado. Mr. Miller preceded his wife in death. There are three sons and three daughters. They are David L. of Los Animas, Mrs. Mary Marlow of Lawton, B. R. of Ripley, Mrs. Fannie Garner of Las Animas, D. A. of Lakeview, Calif. and Mrs. Ilah Stokes of Glencoe. There are forty-seven grandchildren and thirty-eight great grandchildren. [Transcribed verbatim including the errors.]

The following children of Mahala Miller preceded her in death, and were not named in the obituary; Andrew J. born February 23, 1872 died March 6, 1872 in Missouri, Dora Belle Carnagua, John Alexander, Oney F. born January 20, 1883 died September 8, 1883 in Missouri, William "Willie" Edward, Samuel "Sam" Bertie.
