Elmer Lee Meyer, 98, of Fullerton, passed away peacefully Monday, September 4, 2023, at Merrick Medical Center in Central City.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2023, at Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton with Reverend Allen Pingel officiating.

Burial of ashes will follow at Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Elmer was born June 21, 1925 to Fred and Mary (Hawthorne) Meyer at Fullerton, NE. He was the fourth child in a family of eight.

Elmer received his education at rural Nance County schools.

Elmer married Darlene Williams on December 22, 1947 and to this union, one child was born, Duane.

Elmer and Darlene farmed in the Fullerton and Belgrade area.

Darlene passed away in 2012.

Elmer and Duane moved to Fullerton in 2014, where he spent the rest of his life.

Elmer was a quiet and respected man. Family was a very important part of his life.

He enjoyed camping and fishing at Harlan County and Calamus Reservoirs.

He served on the board at the co-op creamery and the Nance County ASCS.

He is survived by his son, Duane of Fullerton; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Ray McNeff; sisters-in-law, Jessie Meyer of Fullerton, Barbara Meyer of Central City, Melva Jean Nicholson of Papillion, Barbara Bridgeland and Carolyn Kay (Mike) Brannan of Illinois; brothers-in-law, Ralph (Donna) Williams of Dannebrog and Jim Williams of Central City; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; his parents; two sisters, Violet (Paul) Anderson and Ruby (Merlin) Zipf; brothers, Everett Meyer, Leland (Louise) Meyer, Bill Meyer, and Gene Meyer; and brothers-in-law, Ed Bridgeland and Lyle Nicholson.
