Henry Simmons was the second child of Jefferson Simmons, Jr. and Sarah ISAACKS Simmons and the brother to my grandmother, Hattie SIMMONS Duty.

He was the grandson of Jefferson Simmons, Sr. and Elizabeth KINDER Simmons and of his maternal grandparents, Joseph Isaacks and Elizabeth R. BARKER Isaacks.

Henry's siblings were Alfred (Alf), William (Bill), and my grandmother, Hattie. Five other of his siblings died as infants. Great-uncle Henry's mother died in 1898.

His father's second marriage to Rebecca LAUNIUS Simmons, gave him two more siblings, his brother, Tom Simmons, and his sister, Jeff SIMMONS.

Henry Simmons was married to Ada CLARK and they are buried here together. Great-uncle Henry was about 82 years old when he died.

Among his survivors were his wife, Ada Simmons, his children, and grandchildren.

Uncle Henry was very much loved by his family and friends and is greatly missed by all.

(The above picture of Uncle Henry and Aunt Ada together is on their shared headstone.)

(The last picture is of my great-uncle Henry Simmons and his wife, Ada CLARK Simmons and their two oldest children, Edith and Harold Simmons, taken about 1916.)
