Dorothy A. Heiland, 79, of Delphi, died at 8:25 a.m. July 7, 1994, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, where she had been a patient three weeks.
Born June 27, 1915, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Amos and Alice Moss. Her marriage was on July 26,1936, in Lafayette, to John F. Heiland, who died April 23, 1991.
A 1933 graduate of Jefferson High School in Lafayette, she worked at the former Union Bank & Trust in Delphi for 20 years, retiring in 1976.
She was a member of the Pittsburg Church of the Brethren and former church financial secretary; a member of Delphi Senior Citizens; and a former member of Delphi Business and Professional Women and Rebekah Lodge in Delphi. She enjoyed bridge and bingo at the Delphi Senior Center.
Surviving are one daughter, Janet Clark of Indianapolis; a son, Russell Heiland of Muncie; a sister, Lillian Jones of Lafayette; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by several brothers.
Services were Saturday at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Vaught officiating. Burial was in IOOF Memorial Gardens, Delphi.
