SERVICES SET for LIFETIME S. B. RESIDENT -- Services will be held to at 1 p.m. today at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel for Lena Mae McGarvey, 83, lifetime resident of the San Bernardino area, who died Wednesday in a local hospital. Mrs. McGarvey of 221 E. Valencia St., Rialto, founded McGarvey's Floral Place, San Bernardino in 1923. She was the last surviving chld or Jane and Bartley Smithson, early settlers of San Bernardino.
Mrs. McGarvey was a member of O.E.S., Arrowhead Chapter No. 538, and the First Christian Church of San Bernardino. She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Thoms of Rialto, California; and a grandson, William Thomas of San Bernardino, California. San Bernardino Sun, San Bernardino, California, Friday, April 11, 1969.
