Earle Record, 86, of Herring Ave. Ext., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003 at Southern Maine Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born in Biddeford, Aug. 19, 1917, a son of Wallace R. and Minnie A. (Carle) Record Sr.
He was a resident of Biddeford for all his life and enjoyed making wooden model ships from scratch. Several of the ships were displayed, one of which was at the Saco and Biddeford Savings Bank and another at the Dyer Library in Saco.
He was a World War II disabled veteran and a proud member of the 64th U. S. Airforce fighting Wing, AAF in the African, Sicilian and Italian Campaign.
He was predeceased by his parents, wife, Medora (Croteau) Record in 1992; brothers, Clayton of Kennebunk, Arthur of Arundel, Wallace Jr. of Saco, and Leroy of El Paso, TX, and his sisters; Mildred Danis of Arundel, Hazel Rogers and Lorene Harmon of Saco.
Survivors include three brothers, Donald of Napa, CA, Herbert of Old Orchard Beach, and Paul of North Waterboro; sisters, Gladys Pate-Simpson of Biddeford, Arlene Coburn of Saco, June Michel of Fort Worth, TX, and Doris Kemp of Dayton, OH.
His internment was in the Cremation Garden in Laurel Hill Cemetery after a graveside service at 11:00 AM by Rev. Howe of the Saco United Baptist Church. Arrangements were by the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main Street, Saco, ME.
