ARUNDEL -
Arthur C. Record, 90, of Arundel, died Friday at St. Andre's Health Care Facility, Biddeford, ME.
He was born Jan. 11, 1909 in Biddeford, a son of Wallace R. and Minnie A. (Carle) Record Sr., and was educated schools.
Mr. Record had resided at Goodreau's Retirement Inn in Windslow for the past year, but, had lived most of his life in Arundel.
Mr. Record was a machinist at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, retiring at the age of 65. After retirement, he was employed as a gardner at many homes in Kennebunkport, taking great pride in his work, survivors say. As well, he was employed part time at the Arundel Market gas station for several years.
Mr. Record belonged to the Biddeford Masonic Blue Lodge.
He was predeceased by a sister, Hazel Rogers, Saco and two brothers, Clayton of Kennebunk and Wallace Jr. of Saco.
Survivors include his wife Annette (Bishop) Record; a son, Rodney of Windslow; brothers, Paul of North Waterboro, Herbert of Old Orchard Beach, Donald of Napa, CA, Earle of Biddeford, Leroy of El Paso, TX; sisters, Mildred Danis of Arundel, Gladys Pate-Simpson, Lorene Harmon and Arlene Coburn of Saco, June Michel of Inverness, FL, Doris Kemp of Dayton, OH, several nieces and nephews.
His body was donated to the University for research. He was later interred in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
