Free Sexson was born in Virginia, the son of William and Leah Sexson. He married Mary [Polly] Morgan, daughter of William Morgan and Elizabeth Bobbitt Morgan in 1816, Knox Co., KY. He died in an accident when a horse ran away and was thrown from a sleigh near his home in Ash Grove Twp., Shelby Co., IL.
