George Cottrell was born about 1870 in Darke County Ohio to Reverend George C Cottrell & Caroline {York} Cottrell. George was arrested & convicted of burglary in June of 1890 & sentenced to 2 years in the State Prison in Columbus, Ohio. George died a couple months later on August 20th in that prison of peritonitis, likely from a ruptured appendix. On page 2 of his death record it states that his place of interment is Versailles, Ohio which leads me to place him in the Greenlawn Cemetery where much of his immediate family is buried.
