Sarah Elizabeth Cottrell Batty was the youngest daughter of George and Caroline Cottrell of a family of Eleven Children.She was born in Versailles,Ohio Sept.11 1880;departed this life Sept 30 1918 Age 30 years and 19 d.
she was united in marriage with George H.Batty,March 1,1898.who were born 8 childrenand one Boy died in infancy.She was converted in July 1913 to the Methodist Eplseopal church in Bradford,Ohio under the pastorate of Rev.Eli Motter with the exception of about three years spent in Sidney,Troy and Bradford.Her lifewas spent in Versailles and community.

She was a hard working women.She did not eat bread of Idleness.was a kind sympathetle mother who took great interestin her children,She was always ready and willing to Assist any one who needed her.

Fve brother,Jerry of Brandford.Daniel of Springfield, Samual Versailles and Elam of Versailles and Miles Wichita,Kans.;six sisters Mrs Laura Belle Fryhof of Bellfontaine,Mrs Minnie Elliott of Sidney,Mrs Lydia Hagman of Sidney,Mrs Jeannie Hole of Dayton and Mrs Rebbeca Reser of Plattville.
Her children Miles,Chauncy,James,Harry,William,Ruth,Grace and Caroline with husband survice her.I was callto her bedside during her sickness she assured me that she was ready and prepared to depart in peace.

Her Funeral was conduated in the Methodist Eplscopal Church by Rev.F.M.Houser and her body was laid to resr in Greenlawn Cemetery to await the resurrectionof the just.
