W. I. Grover aged 56 years passed away at the Memorial hospital a few minutes past fine o'clock Saturday evening following an illness of a weeks duration due to an infection which developed from an injury he had received on the right hand when that member was drawn into aa planing machine which he was operating at the Wagner mfg. Co plant, where he had been employed for several months past. At first it was thought that the wound would readily respond to treatment but instead it gradually grew worse casing the unfortunate man intense sufferings, death following as a sweet relief. The death is a particularly sad one due to the fact that an invalid wife and four small children have been robbed of a bread winner. Mrs. Grover is still in a very weakened condition and unable to leave her bed where she has been confined for several weeks, making the conditions truly sad. The oldest child is but eight years. Shortly after death the remains were removed to the Brown & Sons undertaking parlors where they wee prepared for burial and late taken to the home at 1203 Iowa Street. where the funeral service were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. Hartley, pastor of Zion Evangelical church following which the remains were borne to their last resting place in Fairview cemetery. Besides the widow and four children the deceased is survived by a win brother who resides on West Third street and two sister. Mrs. Dan Thomas of Iowa Falls and Mrs. Reed who lives at Thirteenth and Walnut streets, this city.
The deceased was born at Stock, Iowa, March 18, 1861, where he spent his youthful days later removing to Missouri from which point he removed with his family to this city six years go and during this period he gained the confidence and respect of all who knew him and now extend heartfelt sympathy to the family circle in this their hour bereavement.
