James Taylor Wilson was born in Georgia to Elijah Henry Wilson and Martha Ann Wilson, November 11, 1876. He died in a nursing home in Shreveport, Louisiana, November 16, 1968.
His family left Georgia by wagon train, when Jim was around twelve years old. They arrived in Shelby County, Texas where they became part of this county.
As he grew up, he became a member of the Clever Creek Baptist Church. This church is beautiful today! This is where his first wife Ida Cornelia O'Banion is buried. She was the mother of his first five children. At the foot of Ida's grave is the grave of his infant son by his second wife, Edna Hughes Stack. He was a twin to Ara Wilson.
In the early 1920's Jim and Edna moved their large family to Ringgold, Louisiana.
Jim was a person who loved to have fun, he always had a smile on his face.

James T. Wilson, Sr. of Ringgold, Louisiana died at 10:00 p.m. Saturday in a Shreveport nursing home. He was 92.
Mr. Wilson was born in Taliaferro County, Georgia and had lived in Ringgold, Louisiana since 1923. He was a farmer.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Bistineau Baptist Church. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery in Ringgold, Louisiana under the direction of Rockett's Funeral Home.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his widow, Mrs. Edna Hughes Stack Wilson of Shreveport, Louisiana, eight sons, Fred Wilson, Pete Wilson of Shreveport, O.D. Wilson and J.T. Wilson, Jr. of Heflin, Louisiana, Maurice Stack and Wayne Stack of Houston, Texas, Perry Wilson of Corpus Christi, and Bill Wilson of Los Angeles, California; four daughters, Vonnie L. Peace of Carthage, Texas, Mrs. Ara Pullig of Ringgold, Mrs. Rena Withers of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Mrs. Ann Calhoun of Jackson, Mississippi; 48 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
