Shreveport, LA. - Mr. Pete Wilson, born August 10, 1922, went to sleep peacefully in Shreveport after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 surrounded by his family who loved him very much. His hobbies were family, church and friends and he will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home on Thursday, February , 9th from 5 until 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2006 in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. Officiating will be Reverand Mike Anderson of Haynes Avenue Baptist Church. Interment will folow at Forest Park Cemetery.

Mr. Wilson was a native of Ringgold, LA. and a resident of Shreveport. He was a member of Haynes Avenue Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, was active in the Oil and Gas Drilling with his company, Fred Wilson and Wilson Brothers Drilling Company.

Mr. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, James Taylor Wilson and Edna Hughes, six brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Fay Holland Wilson; one daughter, Cynthia Wilson; one son Michael Ray Wilson; one grandson, Michael Wilson; two sisters, Ann Calhoun of Heflin, LA., Rena Withers of Fredericksburg, VA.; and two brothers, Bill Wilson of Eagle Lake, Texas and Perry Wilson of Corpus Christi, TX.

Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Haynes Avenue Baptist Church.

The family request that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society and Haynes Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Sleana Brooks, Dr. Billy Bickham, Dr. Robert Nickelson, The Regional Urology Clinic and the staff of LSUHMC.
