Allen A. Miller, age 96, of Kiel, with his children by his side passed away 12 short days after the love of his life on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. Al was born to the late Edward and Louise (Klein) Miller on November 28, 1926, in rural Kiel. He attended SS. Peter & Paul Catholic School. Al served his country during WWII from 1945-1946 in the U.S. Army.

On May 24, 1950, he married Jeanette E. Ninmer at the rectory at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on June 2, 2023

He was a jack of all trades, a Refrigeration Serviceman for many years and he also worked for an electrical contractor before he retired. His spare time was spent tinkering in his workshop while listening to polka music and cash cropping his farm land.

Al was proud to be a lifetime member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He took great pride in gardening and providing the produce for Jeanette to can for his family. Al found great joy in taking camping trips with his family where he could enjoy his "Good Clean Living".

He is survived by his five children: Brenda (Steve) Schetter, Kiel, Pat (Jeff) Horness, Howards Grove, Mark (Karen) Miller, Kiel, Lisa (Dan) Winkel, Kiel and Jayne (Dennis Patt) Miller, Elkhart Lake; 11 grandchildren: Alicia (Gaspar) Montesa, Matthew (Alisha) Schetter, Caitlin (Marcus) Walgrave, Taylor (Amy) Horness, Jenny (Steve) Schnelle, Amanda (Justin) Boedecker, Aaryn (Corey) Faust, Jenna (Brett) Yost, Benjamin (Jennifer) Miller, Jacob (Bailey Schaller) Winkel, and Alex Winkel; and 18 great-grandchildren. Al is further survived by two sisters-in-law: Doreen Miller and Gertrude Ninmer, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette; parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Elmer and Viola Ninmer; siblings: Leon (Ruth) Miller, Rosella (Ralph) Bruckner, Arno Miller, Arline (Leo) Schnell, Elroy (Rose Mary) Miller and Carlos (Margene) Miller; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Orville Ninmer, Willard (Frances) Ninmer, Audrey (Elroy) Hansman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church (413 Fremont St.) Kiel. Officiating at the mass will be Rev. Carl Diederichs with Deacon Bernard "Pat" Knier assisting. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery, town of Schleswig with military rites accorded by the Kiel VFW Post #6707.
