Elroy P. Miller, 93 of rural Kiel died Thursday morning August 11, 2022 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was born August 31, 1928 in rural Kiel, son of the late Edward &Louise (Klein) Miller. Elroy graduated from Kiel High School and later attended trade school.

He was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving his country in Japan at the end of WWII. He returned to the Kiel area and was united in marriage to Rose Mary Riesterer on November 6, 1948 at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. They enjoyed 55 years together until she preceded him in death on April 23, 2004.

Elroy worked for the Kiel Bottling Works as a driver and as an electrician for Household Utilities. He was a 70 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. In his free time he enjoyed wood working, gardening, playing sheepshead and was a fan of the Packers and Brewers. In his later years he was a dedicated visitor to family and friends in nursing homes. He also enjoyed watching all his grandchildren and great grandchildren's events. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill.

Funeral Mass for Elroy will be celebrated at1:30 pm on Wednesday August 17, 2022 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill (11928 Marken Rd. rural Kiel) with Fr. Carl Diederichs officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 am until 1:15 pm when we will have brief family rites before the mass at 1:30 pm. Full military honors will be conducted by the Kiel VFW Post 6707 after the mass.
