Edwin Earl Tackett of Lynchburg, Virginia went to be with his Lord on May 31, 2023, after several years of declining health.

Born in Bloomingrose, West Virginia, on January 4, 1937, he was the son of Clifford and Erna Tackett.

His passing comes just six months after that of his wife of 63 years, Rebecca (Becky) Cunningham Tackett.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ed was preceded in death by his sister Ruth Ann Smith.

Ed served his country in the U.S. Army.

Left to cherish his memories are one son Phillip Duane and his wife Christine, of Omaha, Nebraska, three grandchildren, Alyssa, MacKenzie, and Connor, and Goddaughter Amy Richmond.

Officiating the service will be pastor and friend Rev. Jim Freeman. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the mausoleum chapel of Fort Hill Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Union Christian Church, 160 Parsonage Road, Madison Heights, VA, 24572. Diuguid Waterlick Chapel will be serving the family.
