Roger L. Saladin, 61, of Bryan, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, of an apparent heart attack while driving his car southbound on Ohio 15 near County Road J.
Born Jan. 21, 1944, at East Cleveland, he was the son of Helen (Christiansen) and Harold Saladin. He was a 1962 graduate of James Monroe High School in Sepudela, Calif. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Ranger.
Retired from Verizon Telephone (GTE) and employed at Bil-jax in Archbold, he was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, VFW, AmVets and Mensa. Surviving are a son, Troy Saladin of Bryan; three daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Deidre) Saladin-Cole of Bryan, Mrs. Donald (Sharmin) Miller of Montpelier and Brandy Saladin of Montpelier; his mother, Helen Saladin of Norwalk; 11 grandchildren, Britni Saladin, Brandon and Spencer Cole, Devin, Cody and Austin O'Connor, Keisha and Cheyenne Miller, Seth and Sage Saladin and Starr Kroetz; and three sisters, Cindy Saladin of Norwalk, Mrs. John (Roberta) Ward of Toledo and Linda Justice of Port Clinton. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Saladin.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Bryan Eagles Max Baer Heart Fund.
