Ruby Bain Dickey, 77, formerly of 203-25th NW, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 1990 at 7:40 p.m. at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Othoe Stegall will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. They will be at the Melvin Whitaker residence at Powderly. Mrs. Dickey was born Feb. 16, 1903, in San Angelo, a daughter of J.P. Boles and Emma McDonald Boles. She attended schools in Palo Pinto County and married Jesse Whitaker in 1918. He died in 1945. She married Toby McHam in Choctaw Co. OK., in 1947 and he died in 1976. She then married Thurman Dickey in Lamar Co. in 1978 and he died in 1984. She was a cook and seamstress and cooked for many years at the Gordon Country Club before retiring in 1971. She was a member of the Bonham St. Church of God. Surviving are four daughters, Mignon Thompson of Simi Valley, Calif., Wanda Jo Post of Pottsboro, Lucille West of Crossville, Tenn., and Phyllis Hanson of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sons, Jesse Clinton Whitaker of Alma, Kan. and Melvin Whitaker of Powderly, 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; three brothers and five sisters.
