After retiring twice from a long career in bookkeeping and accounting, Buck spent countless hours researching and recording our family history online. He was very proud of the good people that came before him. A man of few words, but every word was such a lesson on life and living. He will live on through all of his family who adored him, so much.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas A. Lackey. He is survived by his wife, Margaret D. Lackey of Asheville, NC; daughters, Gail Hooker and Jeanette Coulston of Asheville NC; a son, Douglas Lackey of Tampa Fl; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Due to illness in the family, there will be an intimate family celebration of life at a later date. He will be buried at Bethlehem Community Cemetery in Old Fort, NC on Sugar Hill Rd. and Silvers Welch Rd.
