Gus married Della Frazar on May 24, 1910, in Liberty County, Texas. They were the parents of one daughter, Maggie Griffith Wisegerber Sargent, and two sons, Milo and J. D. Griffith.

Pioneer Resident Gus Griffith, 79, Dies in Hospital
DAYTON--Gus Griffith, 79, native and lifelong resident of Dayton, died Thursday morning at Dayton Memorial Hospital. He was a retired farmer and rancher. Final rites were held Friday afternoon at 3:30 from the Sterling-Hamlett Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton, and burial was in Linney Cemetery. Rev. Jesse Dunn, pastor of the Mont Belvieu Baptist Church, officiated. The prominent Dayton pioneer is survived by two sons, J. D. Griffith of Mont Belvieu and Milo Griffith of Dayton; one daughter, Mrs. Joe Wisegerber of Dayton; one brother, Amos (Cotton) Griffith of Baytown; five sisters, Mrs. Eliza Lovell of Abbeville, La., Mrs. Edna Albe of Beaumont, Mrs. Julia Legh-Page of Houston, Mrs. Willie Van Houten of Dayton and Mrs. Mary Cooper of Mont Belvieu. Pallbearers were Lester Wisegerber, Melvin Griffith, Charlie Haidusek, G. E. Troxell, Everett Soileau and Joe Benson.
