Mrs. Amos Griffith, Sr., 85, a resident of Dayton for 50 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Cooper of Barbers Hill on September 21.

Funeral services were held at the Reeves cemetery September 24, with Bro. Gray, pastor of the First Baptist Church at Barbers Hill officiating.

Burial was made under the direction of Paul U. Lee Funeral Home of Goose Creek.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. George Cooper, Mrs. Julia Legh-Page, Houston, Mrs. William Lovell, of Abbeville, La., Mrs. J. H. Albe of Beaumont and Mrs. Bronson Van Houten of Dayton; three sons, Amos, Jr., of Baytown; Edward of Cleveland and Gus of Dayton; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Joe Wisegerber of Dayton is a granddaughter of the deceased.
