John M. Heimer, 77, of Adams died on Friday, March 9th at Olmsted Community Hospital in Rochester.

He was born Dec. 27, 1895, in Johnsburg, Minn. and married Barbara Schmitz on Oct. 4, 1922 in Johnsburg. He farmed near Johnsburg until 1938, when he went into the implement business here. He subsequently went to work for the Geo. Hormel Co. in Austin, where he was a meat cutter until his retirement in 1964.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Barbara, are three sons, Urban and Eugene, both of Adams, and John of Danville, Calif; five daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Dorothy) McKenzie of LeRoy, Mrs. Thomas (Kathleen) Falvey of St. Paul, Mrs. Duane (Barbara) Christensen of St. Paul Park, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Leqve of Rochester, and Mrs. Paul (Sharon) Asmus of Fort Collins, Colo.; 32 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother Alfred of Sheboygan, Wis. and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Herne of St. Paul and Mrs. John (Marcella) Scoggin of St. Paul. He was preceded in death by one son, Charles.

Funeral services were held on March 12, 1973 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams, with Rev. Clayton Haberman officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Casket-bearers were John McKenzie, Larry Heimer, Dick Heimer, Paul Heimer, Terry Heimer, and Dennis Falvey all grandsons.
