ADAMS -- A Mass of Christian burial will be offered for Barbara B. Heimer at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams with the Rev. Gregory Leif officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Heimer, 98, of Adams, a former cook for Adams Public Schools, died Wednesday morning (April 12, 1995) at the Adams Health Care Center.
Barbara B. Schmitz was born Oct. 8, 1896, near Johnsburg, Minn., and attended Meyer, Iowa, schools. On Oct. 4, 1922, she married John M. Heimer in Johnsburg. Her husband died in 1973. Mrs. Heimer was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Rosary Council.
Survivors include a son, Gene of Adams; five daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. Arthur) McKenzie of Le Roy, Kathleen (Mrs. Thomas) Flavey and Barbara (Mrs. Duane) Christensen, both of St. Paul, Mary (Mrs. Robert) Leqve of Longmont, Colo., and Sharon (Mrs. Paul) Asmus of Fort Collins, Colo.; 32 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, two sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. and there will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
