The Times-Tribune (Scranton, PA) Thursday, 3 Apr 2014, Page B8, Column 4: "Rocco D. Grippo - March 27, 2014 - Rocco D. Grippo of McMurray, Pa., formerly of Scranton, died Thursday, March 27, in McMurray. -- He was born in Dunmore, son of the late William and Minnie Savero Grippo. He was educated in Scranton schools and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner and manager of Grippo's Body Shop of Scranton. -- He enjoyed spending time with his family and was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Through his years in the Navy, he developed a great love of oceans and lakes. These years of experiences resulted in his love of boating and water skiing, especially on Lake Wallenpaupack. He also enjoyed watching western movies, was a huge car enthusiast and loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. -- Surviving are three sons, William Grippo, McMurray, with whom he resided; Rocco Grippo, Topeka, Kan.; and (son), Dunmore; Lori McCarthy, Scranton; and grandchildren; one sister, Florence Maglioli, Scranton; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. -- He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mindy Kennedy; one brother, Frank Grippo; and one sister, Mary Serrian. -- Friends and relatives may visit Rocco's family Saturday, 2 to 4 p.m., at the Carl J. Savino Funeral Home, 157 S. Main Ave., Scranton. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family."
