The Scranton Times (Scranton, Pennsylvania) Wednesday 22 September 2004; Page 29, Column 4: "Frank M. Grippo - September 21, 2004 - Framk M. "Pete" Grippo, Clarks Summit, died Tuesday afternoon at home after an illness. He and his wife, the former Anna M. Tarantini, would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary Oct. 25. -- Born in Dunmore, son of the late William and Minnie Savero Grippo, he attended Dunmore schools and received his diploma in the Navy, where he served from 1948 to 1952 on the S.S. Samuel B. Roberts. In 1967, he founded Frank Grippo and Son Body Shop, North Scranton, which is presently managed by his son. He was a member of St. Rocco's Church. -- Our father, who died at home, surrounded by his family and loved ones, was a loving, hard working, simple man who was deeply devoted to his family and business. He was a highly respected businessman who everyone admired. He had a magnetic personality with a terrific sense of humor, and loved his pet dog, Brandy "Brando." He will be remembered by all who knew him in their hearts, and in their hearts, he will live on. -- Also surviving are a son and wife; two daughters; grandchildren; a brother Rocco Grippo; and a sister, Florence Maglioli, both of Scranton; nieces, nephews and cousins. -- He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Serian. -- The funeral will be Friday from the Carl J. Savino Funeral Home, 157 S. Main Ave., with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rocco's Church. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. -- Friends may call Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society."

Machinist Mate 2, served in the United States Navy April 22, 1948 to March 17, 1952 (Korea). Frank married A Tarantini on Oct. 25, 1958 in Lackawanna County, PA.
