Patricia Ann "Polly" Dye, 75, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at her home in Front Royal.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Inurnment will be private.

Polly was born June 21, 1947 in Madison, Virginia, daughter of the late Aldon "Jake" Statemore Whitmer and Elizabeth "Katie" L. Lamb Whitmer.

She fostered and took care of many children throughout the years.

Surviving is three sons, Coy B. Dye of Winchester, David A. Dye of Edinburg, and William Johnson of Catlett; two daughters, Teresa A. Curtis of Boston, Virginia, and Katherine M. Gaskins of Front Royal; one brother, Charles Whitmer of Roanoke; two sisters, June Campbell of Chester Gap, and Tina Smith of Remington; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Shelby Lake and Janice Marie "Penny" Ramey; and three brothers, Roger D. Whitmer, Benjamin "Puggy" Whitmer and George J. Whitmer.

She was first married to the late Coy Brasket Stidham in 1965 and then to the late Stanley Marvin Dye in 1974.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal.
