She was born July 12, 1915, in Lake Cicott, to John Walter and Myrtle Emma Mussall Spencer. She was a 1935 graduate of Burnettsville High School.
On Sept. 24, 1938, she was married to Lester Finley "Fin" Measels in Monticello. He survives.
Mrs. Measels was a homemaker.
She was a member of Lake Cicott United Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting, gardening and working at her many jobs.
Surviving with her husband are three sisters, Freda Turner of Kentucky, Vada Hancock of Kokomo and Geneva Boyer of Logansport.
Visitation from 3-7 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi. Services there at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008, Pastor Nord Zootman officiating. Interment IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg. Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Three grandchildren, Arthur F. Dumas of Delphi, Joseph A. Dumas of Fort Wayne and Dawn M. Mills of Indianapolis, 2 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren also survive. Vera was preceded in death by her daughter, Sally Hall on Dec. 18, 1992, and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
