Rufus H. Books Dies in Hospital
Sweetwater - Rufus H. Books, 84, died at 9 a.m. Friday in Shannon Hospital in San Angelo following a short illness.
Funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in Patterson-McCoy Chapel of Memories with the Rev. John McNamara officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery.
He was born in Arkansas on June 29, 1884 [sic] and was a retired barber. He moved to Sweetwater from San Angelo in 1959.
Survivors include a son, Morris of San Angelo; one daughter, Mrs. Nancy Bryson of Beaumont; three granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
