Sweetwater - Buford R. Books, 57, Sweetwater businessman since 1929, and brother of Morris Books of Brownwood, died Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. in a hospital at Colorado City. He was stricken Tuesday while in Colorado City on business.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Sweetwater's First Methodist Church with burial in Sweetwater Cemetery. Patterson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Books operated a specialty store here.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, one brother, his father, three sisters, two-stepsons and 12 grandchildren.

B. R. Books Rites Friday in S'water

Sweetwater - Funeral for Buford R. Books, 57, Sweetwater businessman since 1929, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Methodist Church here. Dr. Marshall Rhew, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery under direction of Patterson Funeral Home.

He died Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. in Root Memorial Hospital after being taken ill while in Colorado City on business.

Born Nov. 2, 1905 in Paris, Tex., he had owned and operated a specialty store for many years in Sweetwater.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. A. B. Ledbetter of Amarillo, Mrs. Charles Dudley and Mrs. John Claybrook of Abilene; one brother, Morris Books of Brownwood; father, R. H. Books of Sweetwater; three sisters, including Mrs. George Kidd of Sweetwater; two step-sons, Harvey Bell of Paris and Harold Bell of Dallas; 12 grandchildren.
