Nancy Lee Atkinson Miller, age 91, passed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at her home in Morganfield, KY. She was born on August 7, 1931 in White Plains, Kentucky to Edgar and Cordie Atkinson, attended Nortonville High School, and Western Kentucky University. She began her teaching career in Daviess County, but soon married Charles Miller and moved to Morganfield where she taught high school for the remainder of her career.

Nancy valued people. She adored a crowded home, a full classroom, a great dinner party, and a worship assembly. Full of wisdom and grace, she modeled selflessness to her family as she opened her home to live-in relatives from the day she returned from her honeymoon! Nancy was generous with her resources, but she preferred to be actively engaged in the lives of the less fortunate, staying involved for years with former students and older adults who needed care.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charlie Miller, her daughter, Mary Ann Collins, and six brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughter Cathy Parkey (Mark), son-in-law Garry Collins, grandsons Jeremy Collins (Holly) and Jarred Collins (Kelly), and granddaughters Paige Miller (Zach) and Kara Parkey, and many great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their appreciation to her devoted caregivers and the friends and neighbors who made her life so richly blessed!

The service will be 3 PM Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield, KY. Visitation will be 1 – 3 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Morganfield.
