Henry Rudolph Loven or R6, Decorah died June 29 at Tweeten Memorial Hospital in Spring Grove, MN at the age of 90. He had lived all his life in the Decorah area & farmed in Glenwood township. He was elected County Supervisor & served during the 1920s & 30s.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 2 at 11 am at Glenwood Lutheran Church where he was a member Pastor James K Jensen conducting final rites. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: John Loven, Joel Loven, Paul Loven, James Loven, Daniel Loven, & David Nieman. Ruth Hove was organist, & arrangements were made by Steine Funeral Home.
Henry Loven was born Oct. 1, 1890 in Glenwood Township to Mary & John Loven. He attended the rural schools of Winneshiek county & was married in 1917 to Clarisse Hendrickson in Glenwood. She died in 1974.
Mr. Loven is survived by 2 sons, Lloyd Loven of Dallas, TX & Orval Loven of Peterson, MN; a daughter Vivian Niemann, Newton, KS; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Roy Loven, Waukon, IA;& 2 sisters Anga Saak, Salem, OR & Violet Rosendahl of Decorah.
His parents, 4 brothers, & a sister, who died in infancy, preceded him in death.
Mr. Loven was a member of the NFO.
