Ethel McKnight

Ethel Smith McKnight, 90, Partridge, died July 19, 1998, at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.

A native of Keokee, Va., she was preceded in death by her parents, Will Smith and Fannie Simpson Smith and her husband, Elmer McKnight.

She was a homemaker, and she was a member of the Cloverlick Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include five children: Jerry McKnight, the Rev. Don McKnight and Eddie McKnight, all of Cumberland; Bill McKnight, Sharps Chapel, Tenn; Thelma Jackson, Partridge; two brothers, Jack Smith, Michigan; Ralph Smith, Keokee; two sisters: Ann Smith and Flora Palmer, both of Keokee; 28 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today after 5 p.m. at the Cloverlick Freewill Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Ernest Brock officiating.

Burial will be in the D.L. Creech Cemetery at Cumberland.
Tri-City Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
